About the Omaha Funfest and Walk
The ASN Omaha Funfest and Walk has taken place annually since 2007.
The ASN Omaha Funfest and Walk provides a sense of community spirit and inclusivity among parents, family members, educators, professionals and people living with autism. Participant attendance has grown over the years and we expect over 1,000 participants in 2020!
The proceeds from the ASN Omaha Funfest and Walk support state-wide programs and events offered by ASN including:
- Providing personalized information and referral services for individuals on the spectrum, their family members, their caregivers, and all Nebraskans affected by autism by live phone communication, email correspondence, and ever-expanding web resources across a variety of platforms.
- Facilitating and organizing support networks throughout the entire state of Nebraska to forge community and serve the non-medical needs of individuals on the spectrum and their families.
- Engaging in meaningful advocacy at the national, state, local, and corporate levels to work to create a world where people on the spectrum are understood and accommodated.
- Working in the realm of education and training with the Nebraska Autism Spectrum Disorder Network and other partner organizations to translate concepts into real-life applications across home, school, workplace, and in the community.
According to the CDC, 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. Although the rate of prevalence for adults remains unclear, we know that the needs continue to increase for everyone affected by autism.
100% of all funds raised stay in Nebraska to support our mission!
We hope that you will help us meet these needs by supporting the ASN Omaha Funfest and Walk!
