As we near the end of 2019, we at ASN reflect with thanks on the many experiences and connections made this year through our community events, advocacy, and supports. It has been a busy and rewarding year, and we sincerely thank you for your past support. It has made all the difference.
Nebraska’s autism community is a family. I am the mother of an amazing young man on the spectrum. My fellow ASN board members are parents, professionals and self-advocates. Autism is at the core of our connection and we strive not only for awareness and acceptance, but also autonomy for those on the spectrum. It is at the forefront of all decisions we make.
Nebraska is a large and diverse state. Likewise, we are a large and diverse autism family. We need each other to continue to grow supports and to improve the lives of all Nebraskans affected by autism.
We are looking forward to good things to come in 2020, including a series of trainings in the PEERS® social skills curriculum for people who work with adults on the spectrum, both young and old. ASN will also offer autism community gatherings across the state. To learn more about these, please go to autismnebraska.org/peers.
Please consider a monetary gift of an amount that is meaningful to you. Your gift will enable us to provide and expand supports in the areas of education, advocacy, information & referral, and community. Help us continue building support networks across our great state.
We wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy holiday season!
