In early 2011, Moppy, a woman with Asperger’s and mother of two grown children, attended a presentation by Dr. Temple Grandin and had the chance to meet her during a book signing. Dr. Grandin, so inspired by Moppy’s determination and independence, invited her to take part in a book featuring several adults with autism spectrum disorders. Moppy, who lives in Omaha, is featured in chapter five.
